LiVe, LOCAL MICRO GREENS

We are delighted to add Zars Farm Microgreens to our selection of locally grown produce at Crazy Pumpkin in New Plymouth.
Microgreens are the shoots of edible plants such as rocket, celery, beetroot that are cut or picked to eat just after the first leaves have developed.
DON’T BE FOOLED BY THEIR SMALL SIZE!
Microgreens are highly intense in flavour and in nutrients. Red Cabbage is extremely high in vitamin C. Radish has an incredible amount of antioxidants. Just a few grams of microgreens can be enough to get your daily amount of nutrients.
EASY & CONVENIENT
Fast, convenient, easy to use. Only a small
amount is needed to equal or more nutrients
than fully grown vege.
GROWN YEAR-ROUND
Here at Zars Farm we grow Microgreens all year
in a controlled environment, spray free.
WHY LIVE MICROGREENS ARE MORE NUTRITIOUS
It’s better to eat your microgreens when freshly cut. They begin to lose their nutritional value after being harvested. Plants are especially vulnerable to infections when they are young. This is why they are enriched in the cancer-fighting & antimicrobial phytochemicals.
Making MicroGreens a SuperFood.
HIGH IN NUTRIENTS
Contain 4-40 times More nutrients by weight than fully-grown counterparts. Microgreens deliver nutrients that are important for eyes, skin, bones, healthy digestion, reducing inflammation, preventing cardiovascular disease, fighting cancer, & strengthening the immune system. Pea Shoots & Sunflower Micros are one of the most complete & nutritious foods.
CONTAIN POLYPHENOLS
Prevent the build-up of harmful free radicals. Associated with a reduced risk of Heart Disease, Cancer & Alzheimer's Disease & more.
Contain wider variety of polyphenols than mature veggies.
IMPROVE HEART HEALTH
Studies have shown microgreens may help reduce heart disease risk factors, such as weight, bad cholesterol triglycerides.
REDUCE CHRONIC DISEASE RISK
Veggie consumption is associated with lower risk of certain cancers, inflammation, heart disease, diabetes & obesity. Folate and Vitamin B6 for a Healthy
Cardiovascular System
Radish sprouts are an excellent source of
folate, with 100 grams of radish sprouts
delivering almost a 1/4 of the Daily Value of
folate. Folate is believed to promote
cardiovascular health by breaking down
homocysteine, an amino acid that is thought to
promote atherosclerosis (fatty deposits in
blood vessels). In addition radish sprouts
contain plenty of vitamin B6, another nutrient
that has been shown to break down
homocysteine in the body.
